Cruise Tourism for a Better Future
By supporting local businesses, fostering education, and preserving cultural heritage, we ensure that the benefits of cruise tourism reach beyond the present, leaving a valuable legacy for future generations. Believing in the power of collaboration and responsible practices, we work with our partners to shape a future where cruise tourism enriches lives, supports communities, and protects the environment.
Summer Cool II
Antigua Cruise Port launched the second edition of its community training series, Summer Cool II, a four-day programme designed to prepare port employees and external stakeholders for the upcoming cruise season. Delivered through complimentary sessions led by Antigua Cruise Port and Global Ports Holding staff, the programme covers key topics including the state of the cruise industry, ISPS awareness, practical maintenance, and business marketing. Through this initiative, participants gain valuable industry knowledge and practical skills, with certificates awarded upon completion, reinforcing Antigua Cruise Port’s commitment to capacity building and community development.
Devil’s Bridge Community Support
Antigua Cruise Port donated five benches to the Ministry of Tourism to enhance the visitor experience at Devil’s Bridge, a popular natural attraction frequented by both tourists and locals. The benches provide a practical seating solution for visitors and form part of the company’s wider social responsibility efforts to engage and enhance communities. Alongside this initiative, Antigua Cruise Port supports community training programmes, educational initiatives, and cultural events, reflecting its ongoing commitment to community development and sustainable tourism.
Summer Reading Programme
Antigua Cruise Port sponsored the National Public Library of Antigua & Barbuda’s Summer Reading Programme to contribute to the educational and personal development of children and young people. The initiative reached 250 students aged 5–17 through a combination of educational, cultural, and recreational activities, including workshops led by professionals from various fields, language exposure, and life-skills guidance. To help students prepare for the new school year, the programme also provided essential school supplies, reinforcing Antigua Cruise Port’s commitment to community development and youth empowerment.
NextGen Program
The GPH NextGen Program is an educational initiative developed in collaboration with cruise lines to introduce students to the cruise and port industry. Through guided visits to cruise terminals and onboard ships, students gain first-hand insight into how ports operate, how cruise lines and terminals work together, and the wide range of career opportunities across the sector. The program features interactive sessions with industry professionals, highlighting the role of ports in cruise operations and showcasing diverse job paths—from operations and engineering to hospitality, sustainability, and commercial roles—helping inspire the next generation of maritime and tourism professionals.
Cruise Connect
